To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Dialysis Department and the 20th anniversary of the Vascular Access Unit at General Hospital Trbovlje, we are pleased to invite you to Trbovlje Days 2026, a one-day professional meeting to be held on 16 October 2026.

The meeting will bring together physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals involved in nephrology, dialysis, and vascular access. The official languages of the meeting will be Slovenian and English, with invited international speakers contributing to the scientific programme.

Morning Programme – Hands-on Workshops

The morning session will consist of practical workshops held at the Dialysis Department, General Hospital Trbovlje, organised in cooperation with the Vascular Access Society (VAS).

Participation in the workshops is free of charge, but advance registration is mandatory due to limited places.

Each workshop is limited to 15 participants.

If demand exceeds capacity, additional workshop sessions will be organised.

Afternoon Scientific Programme

The afternoon programme will take place at Delavski Dom Trbovlje and will feature two scientific sessions separated by a networking break with refreshments.

The programme will include:

  • a historical overview of the development of dialysis and vascular access services at General Hospital Trbovlje;
  • plenary lectures by invited national and international experts;
  • presentations of original clinical research;
  • patient and family perspectives on living with chronic kidney disease and dialysis;
  • presentations highlighting the hospital and the Zasavje region.

Attendance at the scientific programme is free of charge, but advance registration is required to facilitate organisation of the meeting.


The meeting will be accredited by the Medical Chamber of Slovenia and the Nursing Chamber of Slovenia, and participants will receive continuing professional education (CME/CPD) credit points and certificates of attendance.

 

The meeting is jointly organised by General Hospital Trbovlje (info@sb-trbovlje.si) and the Slovenian Nephrology Society (nefrolosko.drustvo@gmail.com), under the auspices of the Vascular Access Society.

Following the meeting, all accepted contributions will be published in the conference proceedings as a supplement to Medicinski razgledi.
